In case if you haven't heard, apparentlly You can create a YouTube account, and immediately get over 100,000 at the blink of a hat.
I say that's absolute FUCKING BULLSHIT!
What people don't realize is that youtube is probably manipulating thousand of lesser known (but still mostly watch-worthy) youtubers by exposing them to random strangers probably without their consent or awareness instead of letting themselves find their audience and develop their own fanbase overtime!
Do you think Lythero , Ted Nivison And Jacksepticeye got famous due to youtube's algorithim? NO!!!! They're successful because people found them while searching up gaming video one day, they told their friends about how much they enjoyed them, and would you know it, more and more people began to grow intruiged to their unique style.
That's how success work. ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY!
You need to build your audience and wait for it to a grow like a flower orchard, not let a bunch coporate douchebags run up to some randos and shove their throats against your will. Practice takes time and effort.
To quote the late great Steve Jobs, "If You Look Closely Most Overnight Success Took A Long Time".
In other news, Netflix has yet again raised the prices of their subscription payment now up to over $17.99 if you wanna get rid of advert, which is just pathetic.
What's the point of including adverts in streaming services, when there are people out there who clearly wanna watch shows and movies without interruption and breathers?
When dicussed about this new payment and how it'll The CEOS "We will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix," What the hell does that even mean?
How is asking people for more money suppossed to help improve their current state? WHAT HAVE THE EXECS BEEN SMOKING?
No Seriously, raising up the price of your streaming service deals is not going to improve you statistics and net worth, in fact it's gonna make people want to unsubscribe from Netflix and jump over to Amazon Prime or Disneyplus or even Tubi. (A obscure streaming service I highly recommend if you're a sucker for absurdist B-Movies, as well as underrated gems like Shameless, Kevin Spencer, Funpak and Donnie Darko like i am).
Even David Zaslav (The "Industry Mussolini") will say that this money management tactic is improbably nonsensical.
And now on the salted cherry on this blistering bleeding wound, Elon Musk. Nazi Salute, Trump inaugauration.
Do i even need to say more, At this point Bluesky totally deserves to diminish Twitter (No, i am not calling it X) to the ground, same goes to most other Social Media.
I think i speak for all of us when i say Social Media is carelessly destroying the vast creativity of the internet, A pitch black smog circle around a melting ice cap, a digital lobotomy invoking to the most boring and unessecary changes, A dead horse that was beaten to the point where it can't even be identified as it's original breed.
I'm not saying Twitter Netflix and YouTube doesn't have any redeeming value, but i'm just saying it's not our fault that in the current state that they are, it's due to the fact the people in charge are rather incompentent pricks who clearly don't know a single thing about Ecommerce (Let alone what they know
To put on a more positive outcome, I think newgrounds might be the most creative, colorful, expressive and generous form of social media we have right now.
Unlike other platforms, it doesn't unwillingly ignores what the people truly want from them, and enforce inessential changes by adding rubbish updates and relying on AI for their contents rather than actual effort.
Tom Fulp truly cares about people like us, he geuinuelly wants the best for our community, he's the one who gives out the feeling that we're a big happy family who'll always be together no matter what.
The slogan is "Everything By Everyone" for a reason, because everyone has total freedom of what they want to do (Just as long as it's totally legal and not blatantly stolen material from other sites)
Might i also recommend some other personal favourite websites of mine.
- Panelchutney.com/pchutney.com - A fun art sharing website, that allows people to claim and pass drawings to other artists to create a coherent story or simply to mess around
- Pointlesssites.com - a broad collections of bizarre shitpost webpages, at least one website will appeal to somebody out there.
- Bluesky.com - because why not
- Uncyclopedia.com - basically if Wikipedia embraced it's ludacris editings instead of constantly restricting them
- Tate.org.uk - A art-themed website that makes really good articles about art pieces, art exhibitions location and even how art portrays cultural orientations and disability and migrations.
And here is a youtuber i'd highly recommended, The Sonic Hero who makes really interesting videos about SMG4 Lore (teehee Ryhming) and slice of life oc videos involving him and what i can assume his friends playing around and having a simple time. While not the best quality out there i still think he's got a charm to his style plus he's shown to have self awareness in his video so it does give off some shitposting vibes, not to mention the pretty good voice acting.
Also like to shoutout to my Newgrounds buddies who have YT Accounts, @Coykey @Kolumbo @MaximizedAnimation @AlexToolStudio @GooseoToons @KokoroHatsaru @Noseyfilms @Tyhond @Skokapus and @Simoes100, who i would also like to recommend subscribing to on Youtube.
Unrelated by the way but if i ever see a instagram boomer webcomic like The Reddot again i'll scream until my head explodes. (Give us Litterbox and Sarah Scribbles)

it feels like newgrounds is one of the few (hell if only) site worth giving money to these days
